Apr 01, 2009nbsp018332When I first saw the Granite Grinder on the shelf at Target, I thought Dawww how cute And I continued along my merry way, not giving it a second thought as I drooled over meatier offerings like the 8960 Thunder Driller and the 8961 Crystal Sweeper.. The next time I saw it was in the hands of a fellow member of the Los Angeles LUG, and I got to see it in action.
The common gimmick in the Power Miners line is the rock monsters. There are five smaller generic swarms-.
-with three larger unique ones appearing in separate sets that have been released so far. They all have larger bodies and arms. LEGO Set 8958 comes with a single Glaciator rock monster minifig. His arms can swivel at the shoulders, and his hands can accept any minifig accessory. His head can be hinged upwards, and one power crystal can be placed inside.
On LEGOrsquos official Power Miners homepage, you can download the instructions needed to combine Set 8958- Granite Grinder with Set 8960- Thunder Driller to become the Aero Shredder vehicle You can also watch animated videos of the Power Miners going up against the rock monsters with their vehicles.
